As if there wasn't enough going on this year, it's been a doozy for predation for us.

(I would like to take a moment to say that in regards to everything else 2020 has going on, I have a lot to say, but I don't have a good way to say it. I'll talk about any topic person...

I have always felt it an honor and an obligation to take the best care of our little piece of land that I can.

Last year, I signed up for an online series of classes with CSU all about land stewardship. There were many things I knew already - and knew we needed to do....

I remember a day a long time ago... we got a bucket, and a towel.  We kicked the former, and threw the latter.

'Cause we bought the farm. Get it? (Kicked the bucket? Threw in the towel? Bought the farm?) We thought it was funny.

We talked of a lot of things back then. Bu...

That wasn't very nice. Not THAT moving day. Today was a "move some baby birds outside day". Hooray!

I got a hold of some stuff recently, and had a chance to repurpose a few things to make a safer environment for some birdies.

Taking care of our super sweet Firestar made  me start thinking of lambs and data. She was born at 3.5 pounds, and another triplet born just a few weeks prior was born at 14 pounds. Those two are at wild ends of the spectrum for lamb sizes.

It made me (spreadsheet nerd)...

January 25, 2020

You may recall me discussing our history with triplet lambs here.

It's January, 2020, and we are just getting into lambing season. So far this month, we have already had 2 sets of triplets. These were both surprises, but maybe they should not have been. Onyx is a lamb w...

This little piggy was named Spanky. And this little piggy was named Buckwheat. And this little piggy got right into the trailer. And this little piggy climbed in 3 times and hopped back out.

This is the story of our 12 little piggies who are ANYTHING but small, and our...
